An Indian Soldier holds his position and covers his arcs during a building clearance Today (17/02/20) on Salisbury Plain, during a join exercise with 1st Battalion the Rifles. A composite company of soldiers from the 14th Battalion The Dogra Regiment have arrived in the UK to participate in the joint Indian and British Army exercise; Exercise Ajeya Warrior. Exercise Ajeya Warrior is held biannually in alternate countries and this year itÕs the UK turn to host this prestigious training event. The two-week exercise is being held on Salisbury Plain and will see B Company, 1st Battalion The Rifles host soldiers of the 14th Battalion The Dogra Regiment. An opening ceremony to welcome the Indian contingent was held at Westdown Camp, Salisbury Plain.The aim of the exercise is to pool together ideas, enhance interoperability and developing army-to-army links. It will see troops from both sides working together in mixed companies on challenging scenarios, which test their abilities and stamina. They will participate in a series of familiarisation stands, lectures and physical training activities. From getting to know one anotherÕs kit and equipment, to understanding each otherÕs experiences and tactics on operations, the exercise will provide an excellent platform to learn from each other.
